Born, 1953, in The Hague, The Netherlands and immigrated to Canada a month after my second birthday. We stayed in Niagara Falls and moved when I was in Kindergarten. I grew up in St. Catharines and there I studied at Brock University where I graduated with an Honours degree in Biology and Urban and Environmental Studies. As well, I went to Teachers College. I taught for eight and a half years and retired at age forty due to complications with my health. I met my husband, Peter, in 1979 and we’ve been together for 46 years and counting!

    To the everyday people:
    the grocery shoppers doing mental math in the cereal aisle,
    the exhausted parents, the debt-carrying dreamers

    For the broken-hearted, the overburdened, and the misled.
    For those who believed in the wrong people—but still believe in grace.
    For those who believed in the best and got the worst—
    this is for you.

    You didn’t fail.
    You didn’t break the system.
    You trusted, you hoped, you tried to keep going.

    But you’re hurting.
    And that matters.

    This is not a judgment.
    This is not another lecture.
    This is a hand extended across the noise—a call to rest, reset, and repair.

    Maybe you’ve been misled. Maybe you’ve been blamed. Maybe you’ve blamed others.
    But underneath it all, you’re still human. Still worthy.
    Still capable of rising with grace and grit.

    We’re not here to punish—we’re here to heal.
    We can’t change what’s been done, but we can change what we do next.
    We can forgive. We can repair. We can reimagine.
    Together.

    So this is your pass. Your breath. Your moment to begin again.

    Take it.
    You’ve earned it.
